Handtrimmen
Beim Handtrimmen wird abgestorbenes Haar durch Auszupfen entfernt, um Platz für das Wachstum von frischem, gesundem und kräftigem Haar zu schaffen. Dadurch wird das Nachwachsen neuer Haare mit einer natürlichfarbigen und wasserfesten Textur gefördert. Es ist wichtig zu verstehen, dass das Haar nur dann entfernt werden kann, wenn es das Ende seines Lebenszyklus erreicht hat und sich von seinem Follikel löst. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt kann das Haar mit sehr geringem Aufwand und ohne Unannehmlichkeiten für den Hund aus dem Follikel gezogen werden.
Fachgerecht durchgeführt, ist Handtrimmen die beste Methode, um sicherzustellen, dass der Hund die Textur, Farbe und Wasserfestigkeit seines rauen Fells und damit die richtige Hauttemperatur aufrechterhält. Das Risiko von Hautproblemen, welche durch das Schneiden der Haare auftreten können, wird dadurch verringert.
WIE OFT SOLLTEN SIE IHREN HUND HANDTRIMMEN LASSEN
8 bis 12 MAL JÄHRLICH
Wenn Sie etwas Deckhaar erhalten möchten, empfehle ich, dass Sie Ihren Hund mindestens alle 4 bis 6 Wochen handtrimmen lassen. Wenn Ihr Hund 8-12 Mal im Jahr handgetrimmt wird, erhält das Fell 2 unterschiedlich lange Schichten von Deckhaar. Bei jeder Sitzung werden nur 50-60% des Fells entfernt (also die jeweils längere Schicht), ohne die Unterwolle oder die Haut freizulegen. Dadurch behält Ihr Hund immer eine schützende Schicht Deckhaar.
Beste Pflege
Um das absolut beste Fell für Ihren Hund zu erhalten, ist es notwendig, die Pflege nach dem Show-Dog-Prinzip durchzuführen. Das bedeutet, dass Sie Ihren Hund alle 1-2 Wochen zur Pflege bringen müssen. Diese Termine sind kürzer als ein normaler Termin. So hat Ihr Hund die Möglichkeit, viele verschiedene Schichten von Deckhaar wachsen zu lassen, damit er immer in Topform aussieht. Sein Fell wird nie zu lang und hat immer eine kräftige Farbe. Die wöchentliche Haarentfernung entspricht der natürlichen Haarentfernung, allerdings mit einem viel gleichmäßigeren Ergebnis.
Hand Stripping
Hand stripping is simply removing an amount of dead hair which dogs would otherwise lose naturally if they still lived in an environment that enabled them to do so. This encourages new hair to grow back with a naturally colourful and coarse (wire haired breeds) waterproof texture. It is important to understand that the hair is only able to be removed from the skin if it has reached the end of its life cycle and becomes detached from its follicle. At this point, it is only friction holding the hair in place and it can be pulled out of the follicle with very little effort or discomfort to the dog.
When done correctly, hand stripping is by far the best way to maintain a healthy skin and coat. This method of grooming ensures that the dog can retain the texture, colour and waterproofing of the harsh coat it wears, maintain good skin temperature and reduce the risk of skin issues that can occur when the hair is cut.
How often should you Hand Strip your Dog
8 to 12 TIMES A YEAR
If you would like to maintain some top coat, then I would recommend that you have your dog hand stripped at least every 4 to 6 weeks. By hand stripping 8-12 times a year you can create 2 different length layers of top coat for your dog. This way, only 50-60% of the coat will be removed leaving your dog with a shorter top coat and never exposing the undercoat or skin which will always leave your dog protected.
Best Care
To achieve the absolute best coat for your dog then it is necessary to take a show dog approach to grooming. This means you would be required to have you dog groomed every 1-2 weeks. These appointments are shorter than a normal appointment. This will give your dog the ability to grow many different layers of top coat, keeping him looking in tip top shape all the time. His coat will never get too long and always have rich colour. Having some coat removed weekly replicates well how it would be removed in nature but with a much better even result.
